October 3rd ~ Diary Entry
2014
Notes
- repot hanging baskets to hang in front of bedroom windows: spider plants
- fertilise lower citrus trees with horse manure (free harvest from Morphettville Racecourse stables)
- purchased a load of playpit sand for kiddies' sandbox
- made a load of potting mix for the potting shed
- purchased a load of gravel and topped up pathways around house
- planned and designed overhead trellis to hang from balcony for grapevine, plus brackets for hanging baskets (steel on flat, twisted, holes drilled for wires)
- began tidying and sorting potting shed, found nest of baby blackbirds and decided not to spend too long at once working in there
- read through the HelpX page, looks promising for us until we're fully organic again and can invite WOOFers...
- Woodstack building technique where the firewood is eventually used and replaced. The wheelie bin urinal is an interesting and simple idea... http://permaculturenews.org/2014/10/03/construction-holzmiete-inspired-compost-toilet-urinal-system-tasmania-australia/
